Tour highlights
Montreal (3 hour)- The magnificent avant-garde architecture of downtown Montréal, the Financial and Commercial district, as well as the brand new International Quarter will also be viewed.
- You will also be introduced to the "Underground City", the world's largest underground network.
- On our way, you will be impressed by the Golden Square Mile where 75% of the Canadian wealth was concentrated in the beginning of the 19th century.
- A drive to the summit of Mount Royal will give you a spectacular view of the city skyline (photo stop).
- Continuing through Mount Royal Park,
- you will arrive in front of impressive Saint Joseph's Oratory, a Roman Gothic shrine.On the Plateau Mont-Royal, in the Latin Quarter and along St. Laurent Boulevard, you will discover the distinctive lifestyles of the different ethnic groups which make up our city.
- You will also glimpse Outremont and Westmount, the city's most exclusive and expensive residential areas.
- You will also visit Jean-Drapeau Park (Saint Hélène and Notre-Dame Islands), site of 1967 World Fair, Expo 67. There you will see the beautiful floral park, the Gilles-Villeneuve Racetrack for the Formula 1 Canada Grand Prix, the Montréal Casino and La Ronde Amusement Park (member of the Six Flags family).
- You will also drive by the Maisonneuve Park and the Montréal Botanical Gardens.
- The Battlefield Park or Plains of Abraham site of the French-English battle in 1759; The Grande Allée that regroups the largest concentration of sidewalk cafés and Victorian style houses in the region an area very active at night also;
- The Parliament building were you can witness the French and English architecture present in the city;
- The Citadel of Québec, the largest in America built to protect the city against a probable American invasion;
- See the canon ball imbedded in the roots of a large tree on St-Louis Street, a silent witness of the French-English war of 1759.
- Quebec City Hall, located in the heart of Old Quebec and facing the Notre Dame Basilica, built in 1894 on the site of the first Jesuit college;
- The Notre Dame de Québec Basilica, majestic building located in the oldest registered parish in North America (1616) and surrounded by the Latin Quarter.
